A couple of weeks ago, our very own Karen P sat down with Adam Gow to discuss her history in both music and radio on the Once A DJ podcast, a show looking at the different journeys that a love for DJing and music can take us on. In this episode, Karen shares stories of early musical exposure through the vibrant arts and DJ scenes in Southend, through her time at University in Leeds, and the move to working on the Gilles Peterson show, where he encouraged her to step behind the decks, ushering in a whole new phase in her career. We hear about how her passion and work ethic led everything to come full circle, with the organic development of Folded Wing through setting up Red Bull Radio and more, up to the present day of ARIAs, a fellowship, and multiple radio shows for the BBC.
