Our team headed out to the Jazz Promotion Network Conference on 31st October to hear the likes of Soweto Kinch talking Inclusivity in Jazz, International working post-Brexit, Radio and Jazz Labels. Various panels discussed contrasting approaches to supporting emerging artists, and potential training methods for those aiming to work in different areas of the music industry.
Speakers included:
Pelin Opcin (Serious/EFG London Jazz Festival), Alex Carr (B:Music/Cheltenham Jazz Festival), Thomas Rees (Freelance Producer, BBC Radio 3’s J to Z), Claire Umney and Christian Bragg (Jazz FM), Alanna Henry (Jazz Refreshed), Heather Spencer (Jazz North and JPN), Julia Payne (The Hub UK), Matt Fripp (Jazzfuel) and Folded Wing’s very good friend Janine Irons (Tomorrow’s Warriors).
It was great for the team to dip into the sessions covering off so many diverse areas of Jazz.
Thanks to JPN for having us!
