Folded Wing are heading to Austin, Texas for this year’s SXSW. The iconic Jamz Supernova has curated a post-genre night of new UK music, which will be taking place on Thursday March 16th and broadcast subsequently on Selector Radio, which Jamz presents and which Folded Wing makes for The British Council. Special content from the event will be recorded and shared on the show when we land back in the UK.
The show, supported by The British Council in partnership with British Underground, features avant garde art-pop artist Jessica Winter, electronica-jazz collective Ishmael Ensemble, jazz-punk outfit Robocobra Quartet, alt-R&B singer-songwriter TYSON, British Latinx singer Desta French and a Jamz Supernova DJ set.
Folded Wing have been making Selector Radio since 2010. The show has four million listeners, across 40 countries. It is presented by label head, radio host, DJ and podcaster Jamz Supernova, whose BBC 6Music show won the Broadcast & Press Guild’s Best Radio Show of 2022. Jamz says: “It’s such a joy and privilege to not only go to SXSW for the first time but to be trusted to curate a stage! I’m so proud of our eclectic line-up – it really showcases how exciting our musical UK offering is.”
