1. Guys We F*****: The Anti-Slut Shaming Podcast
"Two New York based stand-ups, Corinne Fisher and Krystyna Hutchinson, talk about their sex-lives with whatever the opposite of shame is. The way they revel in their sexuality and are so open about everything they get up to is enormously engaging, and it's really refreshing to hear people talk about sex this way. I don't think men talk about sex much at all, so this is a really excitingly frank conversation that makes me feel like we're living in a really post-oppression future!"

A safe space for 'dorkdom'
2. The Dork Forest
"American comic and podcaster Jackie Kashian has done an amazing job creating a safe space for "dorkdom", and a place where her guests can get stuck into the nitty-gritty of exactly why they're obsessed with their obsessions. She let me bang on about the various mechanisms of my favourite board and car games for far, far too long - and I love her for it!"

Time-sinkingly addictive web content
3. The Cracked Podcast
"The team at cracked.com are responsible for some of the most time-sinkingly addictive web content, and their podcast is no different. Filled with alarmingly specific pop-culture riffs in episodes such as "Stupid Lies From Pop Culture That Everyone Believes" and "The Best Fictional Universe To Be A Corpse", it's never less than engaging, informative and unashamedly dorky."

Loads of research and informed opinion
4. Dan Carlin's Hardcore History
"Dan Carlin is a history fan rather than a historian, but he puts LOADS of research and informed opinion into these excellent podcasts. He also shouts all quotations, which is glorious. I've learned about the fall of the Roman Empire, how to pronounce Genghiz, and the significance of rebellion in the German medieval town of Munster..."

Really infectious sense of humour
5. Elis James and John Robins on Radio X
"I listen to the podcast of this, but I'm informed it's also a successful radio show, in-between sections of which our friend Charlie Baker says "Radio X" in a robot voice. This show is so so good - they've really captured the magic that Adam & Joe had as presenters and improvisers, whilst somehow both being the nerdy one. Their sense of humour is really infectious, and if you try a few episodes it won't be long til you're down an absolute catchphrase rabbit-hole... #keepitsession."
