Today marks the start of BBC Music's Jazz first ever ‘pop-up’ temporary digital radio station, with a special celebration of jazz live performance by Jamie Cullum launching proceedings.
Read moreThe temporary service is a collaboration between BBC Radio, Jazz FM and the EFG London Jazz Festival. It is the first time BBC Radio stations will have worked in collaboration with Jazz FM to offer audiences a one-stop shop for jazz music!
Jamie will launch the station with a very special programme celebrating his favourite ever live jazz recordings. He'll delve into his collection, picking classic live jazz recordings from Montreux to the Village Vanguard and Birdland to Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club. He also talk about his own favourite gigs, as well as the performances he wishes he’d seen.
You'll be able to hear the show on digital radio, online and via the BBC iPlayer Radio app from 2pm. It will also be available on catch-up for up to 30 days here.
BBC Music Jazz runs between Thursday 12th November 2015 – midnight Sunday 15th November 2015.
