Welcome to The Listening Post, where each week we get an insight into the radio listening habits of a guest contributor. Once each person has made their picks, we ask them to nominate someone for the following week's Listening Post...
Last week, after being nominated by Folded Wing producer Pete Linney, Kieran Simpson - a producer for Melbourne's 3AW chose his selections. You can view his selections here.
For this week's Listening Post Kieran has nominated Capital East Midlands Drivetime presenter Tom Watts to provide his selections.

1. Jon Holmes on Radio X
"I'm really annoyed at myself for not discovering Jon when he was on XFM weekday breakfast. He now does the Radio X weekend breakfast show and I'm a big fan. Although I'm not always (/ever) up at 6am of a Saturday or Sunday morning, I am subscribed to the podcast and it is 'well lolz'. For me, some of the most entertaining radio is people just having a laugh together and this show's just like that. The three guys (Jon Holmes, Producer Dave and Cornelius the paid intern) have that 'mates having a laugh down the pub' vibe, and they've got some really cool regular features too, like giving a lucky listener the chance to win the meat for their Sunday roast. I urge you to listen to the podcast, I reckon you'll then do the right thing and subscribe."

2. Elvis Duran on Z100
"Although he's still on the air, this isn't strictly speaking a current listen of mine, but more of an inspiration. Very early on in my time at Capital, my legend of a boss showed me this video and it’s stayed with me. In the 90s, Elvis Duran hosted the afternoon show on Z100, New York’s no.1 hit music station (a fairly similar offering to Capital in the UK) - he's on breakfast at Z100. It’s hard to not find the man's efficiency and work ethic to carve out great content from callers impressive!"
Expect the unexpected!
3. Hamish and Andy
"Some might think an obvious choice, but no… I am aware of the hype around these two and I'm also aware I may get some flack for admitting that I've only recently got into them, but hey I'm glad I have now! I really love how they do things differently and the non-stop laughter too. The amount of promo Little Mix have done for their latest (unbelievably epic) album is huge. Instead of just doing another run-of-the-mill interview or acoustic session though, Hamish and Andy took it to the next level, creating funny radio but also great shareable online content (pretty important these days)."

4. James O'Brien on LBC
"Clips like this going viral on social media got me listening to James on LBC. Flippin’ heck he’s a force to be reckoned with! If I were a politician, I certainly wouldn’t want to be grilled by him. There are so many brilliant things about this clip, but the way James effortlessly (it seems) manages to remain calm, which ultimately wins for him."

5. Filler Podcast
"As Kieran stole Serial from me (I'm so bloomin' excited that it's back!) I'm going to go for a slight curveball… Filler podcast describes itself as “a creative industries podcast”. Two guys, Harry Hitchens and Matt Shore, sit down each week in a bustling independent coffee shop in London (which gives the podcast a really nice ambiance) and chat to a different guest each week, whether they be a film-maker, a photographer, a vlogger etc. about how they got into their field and how they turned their passion into their career. Very interesting with the recent explosion of vlogging!"
The Next Listening Post:
"I'd like to nominate Daisy Jarrett to do the next Listening Post. Daisy and I both went to Nottingham Trent University and we were both a part of the student radio station, Fly FM. Daisy was Head Of Music and was always sending me new stuff to listen to!"
