Ah, the White Isle. Every summer, thousands and thousands of people flock to its shores in search of sun, sea, sand - and the legendary nightlife, of course. Next weekend, BBC Radio 1 will be decamping to Ibiza for a series of live broadcasts and special events, all of which will be aired on the radio. Friday night sees a host of huge names at Ushuaia including David Guetta, Duke Dumont, Annie Mac and Monki, and Saturday night at Privilege will feature Above & Beyond, Danny Howard and Pete Tong amongst others.
Read moreIn the run up to the events, Monki's show this weekend is Ibiza themed. The playlist features songs you're likely to hear on the island this summer, from classic to brand new. You can hear the show on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra this Sunday night into Monday morning, 2-4am. Zero 7 - 'Destiny'
"This is the track that reminds me of Ibiza still to this day, wherever I am when it comes on. It takes me right back to Gilles Peterson's old Sunday show on Radio 1, every year we went out to do various shows. Back in August 2001 Gilles brought Phil Asher and Zero 7 to Cafe Mambo to do a live show - it was a proper moment! It was just as the sun was going down, closing Radio 1's Ibiza weekend, so beautiful. Can't believe it was 13 years ago! You can even see some photos of it here."

Stardust - 'Music Sounds Better With You'
"Classic dance tune from 1998, remember hearing it all over the island that year. And I think it hasn't dated nearly as much as some other big hits from that time."
Jim
Crystal Waters - 'Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless)'
"I first went to Ibiza in 1991 when I'd just turned 18 and this track was MASSIVE. We heard it everywhere we went for the whole two weeks. 20+ years later and it still sounds great. A classic Basement Boys production. I've heard it in many clubs over the years since, from Timmy Regisford playing it at Shelter in New York, to Gilles Peterson dropping it at Plastic People. I've played it myself in DJ sets at house parties too and it always brings sunshine party vibez to the dancefloor."
John
De'Lacy - 'Hideaway (Deep Dish Remix)'
"I've never actually been to Ibiza, but I'm sure this was a big tune on the island back in the day. It was big everywhere else. Such a classic record - always takes me back to my prime clubbing days and it's aged amazingly well, considering it's close to 20 years old now - scary!"
Pete
Miike Snow - 'Black & Blue (Netsky Remix)'
"Me and my housemate were obsessed with this track in our first year at uni, it was on all the time when we went out. I saw him play it at Glastonbury a couple of years ago and it was incredible."
Lucy
Tiga - 'Bugatti'
"I went to Ibiza in 2007 and absolutely loved it. I'm not even massively into clubbing and only went out properly once, but the whole place - the bars, the restaurants, the beaches - has a really amazing, unique feel. I've gone for something that I think will be a big hit on the island this summer: Tiga's 'Bugatti'. I imagine the clubs will be full of people shouting along to the lyrics!"
