Services
Every day, we work with the best UK and international artists, whether they're established or emerging. They trust us to help deliver their music and their message with professionalism and creativity. Folded Wing have an unmatched understanding of the evolving relationship between artists, content and brands, and we can make that work for everyone.
We take pride in delivering the highest quality audio content, whether it's a branded podcast, an internationally syndicated weekly show or a crafted BBC documentary. We can create everything from a 30-second commercial to a fully-functioning radio station, and our technical standards, innovation and attention to detail have contributed to multiple ARIA wins.
Folded Wing will help place your audio content in the most effective location, whether that's through social media, on Acast or with international radio stations. Every project, no matter what size, benefits from our digital broadcast and specialist music expertise, as well as global networks and relationships built over the decades.
Nurturing talent, on and off the mic, has been part of Folded Wing since day dot. Our commitment to new talent led to a Best New Presenter ARIA for BBC Introducing and a Radio Academy 30 Under 30, both in 2023. We set up Roundhouse Radio, now rebranded as Transmission Radio. 14 years on Selector Radio with the British Council saw Folded Wing train presenters and audio teams worldwide.
Team
Folded Wing founder and CEO started out at the BBC, producing Gilles Peterson’s weekly show. The audio producer, DJ and ‘Queen of the Podcast’ (TimeOut) was appointed a Fellow of the Radio Academy in 2022, their highest accolade.
Coming from a community radio background exploring underground female artists across neo soul, rap and D&B, Coventry’s Taylor Cottrell runs music platform Fyah Kamp. At Folded Wing she assists on all our jazz and hip hop shows.
Karl’s background in speech radio is underpinned by a love of music which he brings to all our shows. His DJ sets and monthly Deeper Cuts show on Soho Radio represents jazz and jazz-ish sounds that are rooted in new UK music.
Working on flagship BBC programmes J to Z, and Gilles Peterson, Makeda brings expertise in podcasts, literature and education. Previously with Tomorrow’s Warriors as staffer and musician, she has shows on the BoatPod and Netil Radio.
Responsible for setting up BBC 1Xtra and with decades of experience in journalism and broadcasting, Ian has been working with Folded Wing as Exec Producer on The Jazz Show with Jamie Cullum since it launched on BBC Radio 2.
Logistics queen Nat looks after the administrative side of Folded Wing’s world. She’s a music lover with previous experience across tech, AI, events, recruitment and HR.
A stretch doing music licencing at PRS preceded Matthew’s arrival at Folded Wing. Trained at Point Blank Music School, he now works on our weekly shows and development - when he is not recording his own DJ mixes.
Exec Producer Raeph ran record labels, managed artists and DJed internationally, spending 15 years at the BBC Radio 1Xtra before returning to radio at the end of 2022 when he joined Folded Wing.
Jardel’s student radio show explored Manchester’s R&B and soul. A place on BBC Radio 1’s Where It Begins internship led her to Folded Wing. She comes up with ideas and deals with all the background work a weekly show requires.
Experienced producer, writer, musician and J to Z alumni, Newcastle-based Tom writes for Jazzwise, The Wire and DownBeat, often about Haitian carnival bands and vodou drummers.
Author of Make Some Space, which outlines the early days of UK jazz and Dance Your Way Home, our freelance writer-in-resident helps out with word-related tasks at Folded Wing.
